Surf's Up Cafe

The Surf's Up Café was a new addition to our property with our remodel.  It doesn't need to be kept a secret.
Here you will find many healthy options for your dining experience with us!
We are serving breakfast from 8am - 11am along with our café latte, expresso, cappuccino, smoothies and smoothie bowls.
The newest addition to the café is our ability to make homemade ice cream!
Come on in and check it out!  We have a little bit of everything!  I am sure you will find something that will please everyone in the family!

What Is Jackfruit?

A relative of figs & breadfruit, jackfruit grows in tropical areas of Southeast Asia, Brazil & Africa. While it is technically a fruit, it's consistency is similar to that of chicken or pork. It has a fairly neutral taste when young, so it takes on the flavor of whatever sauce or seasoning you pair it with. It has a stringy consistency that works well, especially with tangy barbecue sauce to make a vegan BBQ pulled 'pork' sandwich.

Jackfruit consists of no saturated fat or cholesterol, it's light in sodium, and is also low in calories, with just 20 per a 2.65-ounce serving. Additionally, jackfruit contains 3 grams of fiber per serving, as well as 110 milligrams of potassium.

What Is Pitaya?

Pitaya, also known as Dragon Fruit, is a superfruit indigenous to Central and South America that is now grown all over the world.

Wait, Dragon Fruit is The Same?
Yes! Pitaya was first discovered in Central America, centuries ago, and has traveled to all corners of the globe. Early missionaries brought Pitaya to Asia where it has since been renamed and is more commonly known as, Dragon Fruit.

What Does it Taste Like?

Pitaya, or Dragon Fruit, has a faint, sweet taste much like an earthy watermelon. All of its seeds give it the consistency of a kiwi.

What Is Acaí?

One of the most delicious members of the superfood squad — a.k.a. the cool kids of the food pyramid — is a fruit you've probably seen all over your Instagram feed. Açaí (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) is best known for being the not-so-secret ingredient in picture-perfect smoothie bowls, but there's more to these berries than just their good looks.

Superfood Qualities of Açaí

What is açaí, anyway? Found on açaí palm trees in South American rain forests, açaí berries are a lot like grapes. The seed takes up about 80% of the berry, but the flesh and skin pack plenty of vitamins and other nutrients in the remaining 20%.
